I, myself, believe that
art is a way that we as humans express themselves.
Art is older than recorded history itself. We have
created many forms to communicate what we see,
hear or feel. Great books on art capture the best
of the best and some of the worst of the
worst.
From Wikipedia, "The
first and broadest sense of "art" is the one that
has stayed closest to the older Latin meaning,
which roughly translates to "skill" or "craft,"
and also from an Indo-European root meaning
"arrangement" or "to arrange." In this sense, art
is whatever is described as having undergone a
deliberate process of arrangement by an agent" or
artist.
I find it difficult not to be
awed by the art of metal sculpturing that artist
display their skills. Whether the material is
iron, copper or bronze or the interpretation is
classical or modern it is a great art form. The
feelings can certainly be aroused when viewing the
craft of metal sculpturing.
The eras
of such as Art Nouveau and Art Deco have come and
gone, but have left beautiful examples of
creativity art forms such as jewelry, glass,
ceramics and furniture. Not matter what era or
region for that matter, art gives depth to the
rich history of mans journey in life.
Music
is another great art form. From the very
basic notes man creates a reflection the time we
live in. From the great symphonies to rap, music
is constantly revolving, to express the era or set
groups apart. Man uses music in many ways to set
himself apart from other creatures, to proclaim
that he is different than any one
else.
