Benefit Of Exercise and Play Time As Children

Often times, when children return from playing, they look quite exhausted and are ready for a nap. This is an accurate description, and the truth, as playing is hard work. It's exhausting to the mind and body of the child and it plays an important role in helping them to become productive and healthy.

Play and exercise will provide children with several benefits. Exercise plays a key role in keeping a child healthy. It helps the child grow into a healthy adult. If we develop the habit of exercising as a child, we will tend to continue that habit as an adult.

Participating in organized sports, coordinated play times, and being a member of a large group teaches a child how to interact with peers and perform as a member of the team. In today's business world, these skills are essential.

The knowledge we gain about body language, coping skills, and how to interact with others is invaluable. When we fully develop these skills we also learn how to interact better with ourselves.

Although interacting with ourselves seems rather pointless, it is actually an important part of maintaining the best sense of health and wellness. When our bodies are trying to tell us things about our physical or mental condition we will simply refuse to listen unless we train ourselves to hear its message.

Exercise and play also teaches us about our physical and mental limitations. When you watch children and teens playing, you'll sometimes notice them pushing themselves over their limit. Still, children are more able to recognize a real limitation. While an adult is more apt to listen to what society defines as the limit.

The pressures of the world don't affect children and young adults nearly as much as they affect adults. Children have a more peaceful state of mind. Adults tend to let the outside world affect their mental state which affects their bodies. If left unattended this negative state of mind will become dominant.

As you can tell, the benefits that are gained from exercise and play time as children will benefit them for the rest of their lives. As adults, we often forget the importance of exercise and play. We usually want to rush children into their daily responsibilities, forgetting that at their age they need to play and interact to help develop their young minds and bodies.
