If you
have been around as long as I have, you will remember
the tales of the Long Ranger, Gene Autry, Tex Ritter,
Red Rider and of course the unforgettable Roy Roger and
Dale Evans. These modern day heroes who fought the
bad gays, and always won do matter what the odds were.
This was the romantic wild west of our
youth. Playing Cowboys and Indians was always fun
on the long summer days, but today the era has long
past, it would be very hard to find the white hat heroes
of the past.
From the past those heroes
produce a large array of collectible items. From
badges to cap guns, bb guns, special rings, costumes,
hats, lunch pales and hundreds of other promotion pieces
that were mostly less than a dollar and can be worth
several hundred dollars
But in reality the wild west was a
wild west, great hardships were encountered as the
pioneers cross the western plains heading for a new life
as far as California and Oregon. Old wild west art and
antiques of quality such as furniture, gold and
silver objects, gold quartz jewelry, gambling tools,
firearms are highly sought after.
Other collectible
were tools, barbershop implements, signs and
posters. Also "cowboy" items, included revolvers,
pistols, maps, boots, and chaps, and horse gear, such as
bits, saddles, and spurs. What ever wild west
items you are collecting you will find great information
in the books available at Delve Bookstore.
